Deformable Object Tracking Using Optical Flow Constraints

چکیده

In this paper, we present a method for deformable object tracking that exploits the entire image information using the optical flow equation instead of working with discrete feature points. Our method starts from the optical flow constraint and first estimates global transformations in a hierarchical framework. Elastic deformations are then estimated separately using deformable meshes and spatial and temporal smoothing constraints. In both cases additional constraints to regularize the optical flow field are obtained from the motion model such that finding the best transformation amounts in minimizing an error function that can be solved in a least squares sense. Combing deformable meshes and the optical flow equation with a dedicated weighted smoothness constraint on the mesh deformation and estimating global transformations separately from elastic deformations is key to dealing with complex deformations such as cloth deformation as a person moves.

Online multiple people tracking-by-detection in crowded scenes

Multiple people detection and tracking is a challenging task in real-world crowded scenes. In this paper, we have presented an online multiple people tracking-by-detection approach with a single camera. We have detected objects with deformable part models and a visual background extractor. In the tracking phase we have used a combination of support vector machine (SVM) person-specific classifie...

Using a Non-prior Training Active Feature Model

This paper presents a feature point tracking algorithm using optical flow under the non-prior training active feature model (NPTAFM) framework. The proposed algorithm mainly focuses on analysis of deformable objects, and provides real-time, robust tracking. The proposed object tracking procedure can be divided into two steps: (i) optical flow-based tracking of feature points and (ii) NPT-AFM fo...

Cloth Motion from Optical Flow

This paper presents an algorithm for capturing the motion of deformable surfaces, in particular textured cloth. In a calibrated multi-camera setup, the optical flow between consecutive video frames is determined and 3D scene flow is computed. We use a deformable surface model with constraints for vertex distances and curvature to increase the robustness of the optical flow measurements. Trackin...

Model-based Integration of Visual Cues for Hand Tracking

We present a model based approach to the integration of multiple cues for tracking high degree of freedom articulated motions. We then apply it to the problem of hand tracking using a single camera sequence. Hand tracking is particularly challenging because of occlusions, shading variations, and the high dimensionality of the motion. The novelty of our approach is in the combination of multiple...

Analysis and Synthesis of Facial Expressions by Feature-Points Tracking and Deformable Model

Face expression recognition is useful for designing new interactive devices offering the possibility of new ways for human to interact with computer systems. In this paper we develop a facial expressions analysis and synthesis system. The analysis part of the system is based on the facial features extracted from facial feature points (FFP) in frontal image sequences. Selected facial feature poi...
